Police apologise for 'cowboys & indians' arrest of foxshooters

Tayside police have reportedly apologised to three foxshooters after arresting them at gunpoint last May on an estate in Angus, in an operation criticised as a "cowboys and indians" over-reaction to reports of gunshots. Owen White, a 64-year-old surveyor, says: "I saw a sergeant with a gun but he kept shouting 'shut the f*** up' every time I tried to explain we were law-abiding people on a legal shoot. There were about six cars, at least a dozen police and a police dog." Story in the Sunday Mail here »
