This stunning image of a 14 year old girl on horseback with a buck she hunted, by
David Chancellor, has won the
Taylor Wessing prize. Chancellor won £12,000 for the picture, described by Sandy Nairne, director of the
National Portrait Gallery and chairman of the judges, "a powerful and beautiful portrait, a worthy winner amidst a strong international submission".

A beautiful image and except for the clothing utterly timeless. She could have been a hunress from any time, any place.
A beautiful picture, the lighting makes it very moving, but it looks too clinical, The girl looks too clean and pristine, more like a photo for a clothing catalogue.
Apart from that its a cracking shot though!!
