Take or find an old radio controlled car (mine was from a M&S kit that cost £15). Remove all the body work leaving the electronics casing. Take off the wheels from the axle connected to the motor. Attach some metal bar connecters (4mm to 4mm from maplin), take some stiff 4mm wire and attach a 200-220mm section to each axle. Twist the end 20mm of each bar at 90degrees to make an Lshaped bar.
You can either put of foam, plastic or real wings onto these bars. I used real wings.
I affix this unit inside a pigeon shell decoy. It worked at 25yrds from my hide very well. Looking forward to using it with ducks this season.
Cost under a tenner if you use an old car and it's loads of fun to make.
Tom, LeedsAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8009643355982117276.post-7033808759580774252007-10-06T23:12:00.000+01:002007-10-06T23:12:00.000+01:00Received an email from wildfowler@talktalk.net who...Received an email from wildfowler@talktalk.net who tells me he's making a radio-controlled, electrically powered spinning-wing decoy, which he says is a bargain at £45 each and out-decoys a magnet any day. "You don't need any wind for this baby... I can't make them quick enough" he says!James Marchingtonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08109578008088776428noreply@blogger.com
